Rhaphigaster nebulosa, common name mottled shieldbug enjoys the last rays of sunlight before dusk. When it feels in danger it secretes a strong, unpleasant odor that scares off potential predators. I try to avoid taking photos of insects from above, perhaps because they remind me of collections of insects pinned with a needle. I prefer to get down to their level and enter their world.

Una chinche nebulosa Rhaphigaster nebulosa disfruta de los últimos rayos de sol antes del anochecer. Cuando se siente en peligro segrega un fuerte y desagradable olor que ahuyenta a posibles depredadores. Intento evitar hacer las fotos de insectos desde arriba, tal vez porque me recuerdan a las colecciones de insectos clavados con un alfiler. Prefiero ponerme a su nivel y entrar en su mundo.
