Watching a 1997 #NASCAR race at Talladega in beautiful upload quality from NASCAR's own mastertape, remembering back when racing at Talladega wasn't boring and shitty all the time. Wally Dallenbach Jr running right up with Dale Earnhardt a lot of this race, love me some Wally, a favorite of my pet journeyman drivers in the series.

With NASCAR drivers (Larson, Johnson) struggling to adapt to Indycar and Indycar drivers having long struggled at the top level of NASCAR other than Stewart, it amazes me often AJ Foyt was contending for titles full time in Indycar, full time in USAC Stock, and part time in sprints, midgets, sports cars and sometimes even #NASCAR too. People forget that Foyt is a three time USAC Stock Car champion during his #indycar years.

This 1993 #NHRA race I've been watching on the last few days has a bunch of Oldsmobiles in it, Funny Car, Top Fuel, and Pro Stock. I never knew they had poured so much into drag racing, but this is the year they left NASCAR and their Indycar involvement wouldn't start for another 4 years or so, so it makes sense they'd move those resources somewhere.
