Making a quick pass through the feeds here but not working because

TODAY IS INK DAY

Picking up oldest daughter around 10 and heading into the Milwaukee metro area for a day of shopping and eating and getting inked and more eating.

I wonder if she's decided where she's getting her tat. "Behind my ear" is a start, but there are two of those . . . It will be tiny, no larger than an inch long. Mine will be maybe twice that, on the lower outside of my right leg (above the ankle, below the calf).

She's going first. Not because I'm scared, but because I need to apply the numbing gel and leave it for an hour or so.

Making a day of it with oldest child for her 29th. Sure, there are the matching tattoos, but we need to eat about an hour before that appointment, and we'll for sure be hungry afterwards, and there'll be a bit of time to kill, so she asked to scope out a particular shop as well.

We haven't done a day for the two of us in years. Very much looking forward to it.

So excited about getting my first ink next week!

Oldest and I have talked about getting matching tattoos for a few years. This is The Year. She made the appointment this morning, for a week from tomorrow, which is two days before her birthday. The artist comes highly recommended by oldest bestie. Plus, the studio name is Alderaan.

Oh yeah. That's good juju.

We're getting Tibetan om tats (the Tibetan script, with its pointiness, rather than the curves of the more commonly known Sanskrit). She wants hers behind her ear.

I'm debating. Upper arm or back shoulder? My first. Her . . . tenth, maybe? She has a large piece on her thigh that she designed herself of her favorite Studio Ghibli characters. It's stunning and very colorful. It goes from top of thigh to just above the knee, and covers about half the circumference. BIG.

I am not that brave. Ha.
