One of the old mooring post at the Glasgow Harbour Development on the Clyde near Partick. This was formerly Meadowside Quay, built in the 1910s, and you can still see the marks on the posts left behind when the ships were secured to them. These patterns are repeated on many of the posts, but getting less frequent from east to west, and I presume they were created by mooring chains as they were pulled over the top on arrival and departure.
