The Leaning Tower of Texas/Britten, located in Groom, Texas, was originally a functioning water tower that was tilted at a 10-degree angle as a marketing strategy for a truck stop in the 1970s, becoming a popular Route 66 roadside attraction. The iconic, giant cross of Groom, Texas. It stands at 190 feet tall (58 m) and is positioned just off historic Route 66 and modern Interstate 40. I did NOT wake up to witness/shoot the eclipse at 5 am the other day, but instead, I got several moonrise shots the previous evening near Groom. I actually didn't get my planned shot, because clouds low on the eastern horizon prevented it, but I got several hectic consolation shots, of which this was one.
