These were early experiments for a character design, originally meant for my L'Âme Immortelle interpretation. In the end I decided to focus entirely on the blade alone, but these studies were part of the process.

"Ich liege hier und zähl' die Tage / Wie viele noch kommen, ich weiß es nich′"

“Durch die Nacht” ("fighting through the night") by Silbermond describes the emotional state after a relationship that hasn’t been processed internally yet. The lyrical voice is trapped in a cycle of thoughts, unable to switch off, experiencing the nights as especially painful. Sleeplessness and tears reveal how present the other person still is, even though letting go would be the right thing to do.

At the same time, the song suggests that the way out can only come from within. “Fighting through the night” becomes a metaphor for enduring heartbreak and slowly finding your way back to yourself. It captures that fragile moment between holding on and letting go, a draining yet necessary inner process.

This artwork aims to capture the emotional intensity and inner restlessness of the song. I rendered the same prompt with SDXL, Z-Image, and Flux to see how each model translates that atmosphere visually.
