Mono was a nice laid-back anime. It was definitely different than YuruCamp and I think I still prefer the latter.
Mono often seemed kind of random with the lack of focus on proper photo club activities. But it was also fun in how random it was and we saw a lot of nice food and places.
Several YuruCamp cameos were als included that were nice to discover especially when they were a bit more subtle.
I didn’t really like the recurring horror theme, especially when it was portrayed like there was actually something spooky be going on. For me that doesn’t quite fit a series that is otherwise so realistic, it just makes superstitions look reasonable.

Finished #MonoAnime, guess it's time for a review. I thought it was fun, but it wasn't really that impressive. if you like Yuru Camp, you'll probably enjoy it, and if you're looking for a goofy slice of life show that includes a lot of tourism, food and some outdoorsy stuff, this is definitely a good option. it was definitely funny a lot of the time and the production quality was pretty good too. I just never got invested in the characters or the plot. it's strength is really in its humor and metacommentary traits. I was also annoyed at how it establishes photography as being an important theme in the beginning and then completely forgets about it for most of the show. I also got a little burnt out on the tourism stuff by the end, it's done pretty well but it's just not inherently that interesting to me, I would have preferred more character-driven stories. All in all though, a pretty decent comedy series from Afro.

I couldn’t quite laugh about the horror stories in Mono episode 7. The real horror story is people selling “plasma air filters” aka superstitious bullshit that claims to help with anything but doesn’t actually have scientific proof.
In real life it’s something that just outrages me how people make money with stuff like that 🤬 Personally I don’t think that should have a place in a slice of life anime.

#monoAnime episode 7: this is starting to feel like "Afro does whatever the heck they want, the anime" and tbh, I'm here for it. the story is definitely lacking in focus and consistency, but on a per-episode basis it works well enough. it made me laugh out loud quite a bit, so for a comedy I guess it's hitting the mark. the tourism and metacommentary elements are also going over pretty well. I just feel like the show has done a complete about-face at this point from the initial premise, which is kind of funny in and of itself, but also slightly disappointing because I'm really interested in photography and cinematography and I'd love to see more of that in the show. it is what it is I guess. I'm enjoying the show quite a bit and I'm interested to see how it will develop heading towards the finale. #anime
I’m not fully caught up on #monoAnime but it’s a nice relaxing hobby show. The episode where they visited the sites of “that camping manga” was a nice tie-in for #YuruCamp fans.
I’m also positively surprised about Haruno improving her driving because her being a bad driver seemed to be just a cheap gag.

Episode 4 of Mono was really good. It's funny, cute and just generally fun. The tourism aspect seems to be the most prominent in the show at this point. I'd like it if they focused more on photography, but it's not a big deal. I'm more neutral on how meta the show is WRT Yuru Camp, it's kind of fun but I also find it slightly distracting. It makes it feel like a side project where otherwise it could have felt more like it's own thing. But if it is just a side project, it's a pretty good one and I can't complain about getting more Afro anime.

#MonoAnime is really good! It's funny, fast-paced and a little wacky, while carrying over some of the adventurous and cozy vibes that made Yuru Camp great. I hope they get deeper into photography and cinematography activities as the series goes on.

A relaxed hobby series… actually I am not sure what more to say. The characters are likable enough and I’m learning a bit about photography that I didn’t know yet. I think I’ll enjoy this.

Mono Episode 1 Impressions

I love Laid Back Camp, so I was excited for this adaptation of his work about a photography club and its members.

It is definitely scratching the Cute Girls Doing Cute Things itch this season. The humor is on point. So far the photography parts have been a bit limited, but hoping it gets down to really showcasing it more.

Unless this completely nose dives in the coming episodes, this will be a must watch for me just based on my love for Laid Back Camp.
