Sí, començaré pels més coneguts: Molchat Doma.

Com a curiositat, diré que els vaig conèixer abans que la majoria perquè sóc un friki de la música. Sovint busque coses com "Reggae islandès" (Hjálmar), "Punk sud-africà" (National Wake), "post punk colombià" (La procesión de lo infinito) o "grups gòtics d'Angola" (Neblina).

Doncs un dia vaig cercar 'Russian post punk' i els vaig trobar.

Credit to the goth offspring for a good night out seeing Molchat Doma with her last night.

I'd never heard of them before she mentioned them, but it seems the band was raised on some of the same music that she was, in the post-punk, Gothic and new wave sounds of the 80s and beyond.

That is, of course, hilarious, since it places us closer to the band's parents than to them. But every gig has to have a couple of cool more-mature people in the audience, yes?

Excellent night out tonight seeing Molchat Doma from Belarus. The band are of post-Soviet generation in Belarus, singing in Russian and melding all the influences of early Goth music, new wave and the post-punk era. Echoes everywhere of early Sisters, New Order, new wave synth, the stuff I came of age listening to - all great to hear.

Through it all, instrumental passages with exquisitely beautiful guitar.

Good to see the local Goth community out in force too, sometimes to the bemusement of the Russian speakers in the crowd.

So there's a possibility we'll see the Belorussian band Molchat Doma in the week before Christmas. Post-punk, new wave, goth-adjacent, doomy synth-pop.

After listening to them for an hour or so, there's a lot there for me to like.
