Haus Rath is a 16th-century manor house near Arnoldsweiler, a district of Düren in North Rhine-Westphalia. Surrounded by moats, the estate was long owned by the Barons Spies von Büllesheim and later by the Barons von Bourscheidt, both ancient noble families.

The ‘Große Burg’ (Great Castle) in the village of Kleinbüllesheim (Euskirchen municipality) with its outer bailey (farm buildings) and residential building. The original moated castle was built on the site of a medieval castle that was demolished in 1728. It is still inhabited today by the Wolff-Metternich zur Gracht (Liblar) family of counts.

Kriegshoven moated castle near Swisttal-Heimerzheim (Rhein-Sieg district). The date of its first construction is not known; the lords of Kriegshoven are first mentioned in the 13th century. The current Renaissance building dates from the 16th century and is still inhabited by a noble family.

Burgau Castle, standing on a hill, is a moated castle in Niederau (Düren municipality, Rhineland); it was first mentioned in 1313. Predecessors may have stood here as early as 1100.

The group of buildings of the former moated castle Arloff in Arloff (Bad Münstereifel municipality, district of Euskirchen) is one of the typologically important castles of the Rhineland, because a purpose-built fortified building from the early Gothic period is rarely found in such clarity. Arloff Castle was first mentioned in 1278.
