Anyway, we get on with things and my family member does an amazing job of supporting me by recognising actual needs, pushing hard for things that really aren't needed or easily and cheaply replaced if that changes … the same kinds of things a properly-trained #HoardingSpecialist can help with.
It was great to be able to extend on established and ongoing work with the specialist.
The additional thing my relative accomplished, though, was the deep understanding of both my limits and the workflow necessary to #mitigate #disability issues related to feeding myself more economically, and setting up and even teaching me HOW to use my rice cooker to do so.

Now of course, throughout all this time we had also been #decluttering the kitchen, with a great deal of progress both in permaent removal/disposal but also of putting things that did need to be kept either away or at least collected together with similar items in an accessible, clear-sided and labelled box.
Somewhere in the lower #strata, my family member found the item I pictured in the first post of this story.
They looked at me with a raised eyebrow, so I explained that I had no idea what it was but I had tried using it for poking holes in various experiments whilst creating/developing/building/modifying items to help #mitigate all these major issues in recent years.
The thing is, unlike me, they knew EXACTLY what it was. The raised eyebrow was not a silent 'WTF is this?' but a 'Why on earth does my non-cooking relative have a #MeatTenderiser?'

I got hit with some rough words on this. Not going to respond directly to any of the hate.
Would like to generally respond with these comments...
The figures in the article are congruent with other presentations I've seen over the past 5-10 years. There is nothing really new here. I was frustrated because the "auto web image grab" in the original post had a bland photo of a seagull with some windmills out of focus in the background. I reposted it the way I did to highlight 👉 The #Data 👈 buried in the article.
Other than that it is the same article. I suspect the bland post did not garner the same emotional response.
This particular article is primarily focused on what is and can be done to 👉 #Mitigate👈 #birdkills due to these structures. I like that. 🙂
One person said "everything must be solar" or similar with no evidence why they feel that way. On the subject of bird kills, there's real evidence that "solar farms" also kill #birds. One of many similar articles: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0960148116301422 "A preliminary assessment of avian mortality at utility-scale solar energy facilities in the United States" The bird kill rate may be similar to wind.
Re #Cats. I like cats. I've had cats as pets. I'm even allergic to cats. I do not own a cat at this time, but if I did I would seriously consider keeping it indoors most of the time. Spay, neuter, shots, etc. are also a must.

Imagine even if a fraction of this #military #spending could be re-directed to help people #mitigate #climatechange #adapt to it in-situ and/or #migrate to more livable parts of the world. Instead of fighting, cooperation would help us address so many major issues rapidly!
Sigh...
