Bishops' Cap or Miterwort (Mitella diphylla) is a member of the Saxifrage family, closely related to Foamflower (Tiarella cordifolia). It blooms a week or so before foamflower buds start to emerge.

Pollinated by flies and bees, this plant grows in shade or part sun in woodlands, often growing near streams. One of my favorite spring wildflowers.
