"Within hours of the final #gunshot on the evening of 14 December, #NewSouthWales Premier Chris #Minn’s urged #Australians to “wrap our arms around” the #Jewish community in a show of solidarity and support. It was an eloquent statement and many Australians in geographical proximity to #Bondi have done so.
But how, as a broader community, do you support a #minority which has been edited out of #Australian #arts and #culture in service of a simpler, more palatable narrative?
In this context it seems as though every Australian Jewish #artist or #writer has been presumed personally responsible for #Israel’s actions in #Gaza unless they have #published a #book or #thinkpiece explicitly stating otherwise. One of the most disappointing things to witness, as a member of the arts community, has been an inability for any sort of nuance to be expressed. It’s much easier to carry a tote bag with a slogan than it is to allow creators of Jewish #faith or heritage to speak."

It shouldn’t take a massacre for the arts community to stop excluding Jewish voices - ABC Religion & Ethics
Jewish writers and artists have been excluded from festivals, exhibitions, funding and gallery representation since the 7 October attacks, with many experiencing discrimination because they have a Jewish sounding name.
