So, I don't think I can call myself vegan. I exclusively wear minimalist/barefoot style shoes, as they help me avoid injuries. Unfortunately, vegan selections are limited. And I've realized that all the vegan shoes I own look cheap, worn out, and/or too casual. I've been embarrassed by my shoes for quite a while.
So I bought some leather shoes. 🫣
@randomized they look comfortable. Do they have some cushioning or none at all?

These are the ones I use for walking. The first model is for transitioning, there's a bit of cushioning.
The second one is for trail running/walking.
I'm exclusively wearing barefoot shoes for about 1.5 years now. I really like them and I don't think I want to wear regular shoes anymore.
(funny enough, the regular shoes I wore before had actually less weight than my barefoot shoes. 😁)
They cause absolutely no problem to me, I like feeling different surfaces, and it's the closest I can get to walking barefoot.
Barefoot is still more fun, though. 😁
I still need to buy barefoot hiking shoes at some point, but sadly they're a bit expensive, so, maybe at some later point.

It was really the adaptation required by walking in #minimalistShoes. I had to switch to a forefoot stride both when walking and running. The impact on the knee joint is significantly different and that implies an adaptation period.
For now I will keep #running in regular shoes, but starting from June I will start wearing my #barefootShoes 1x/week.

Week 18, run 2/3
Today just a light sporadic discomfort on both knees and my right calf wasn't tight at all.
I am more relaxed now and I believe to have overcome the most difficult phase in transitioning to forefoot strike.
For the past 3 weeks outside walking has been with #minimalistShoes only. I can already notice improved toes mobility (the main point), but I will talk about the #Xero shoes later in a dedicated thread.
@deviantollam A guy at our building was recommending Jim Green barefoot boots to me the other day, after noting my #minimalistshoes. These aren't bespoke, but you can do a custom order and spec things out in fair detail, without getting into bespoke prices. Looks like around $300.
