Milano, 12 mar. (askanews) - Aumentare la capacità produttiva di droni aprendo stabilimenti all'estero. Da qualche settimana alcune aziende ucraine di armi che cercano di proteggere le catene di approvvigionamento dagli attacchi russi, stanno costruendo stabilimenti fuori dal paese.
In un edificio poco appariscente vicino alla base aerea britannica di Mildenhall, il produttore di droni Ukrspecsystems si appresta ad aprire una nuova linea di produzione che tra poche settimane, sarà in grado di produrre fino a 200 droni di sorveglianza (ISR) al mese, e fino a 1.000 a lungo termine.
"È un grande passo coraggioso che abbiamo compiuto al di fuori dell'Ucraina", afferma Rory Chamberlain, direttore di Ukrspecsystems UK. "Il nostro piano è quello di proteggere la catena di approvvigionamento, questo è il posto migliore per farlo e poi consegnare i prodotti da qui."
Sebbene l'Ucraina abbia incrementato la produzione di droni dopo l'invasione russa del 2022 - con oltre quattro milioni di unità prodotte nel 2025,- la domanda rimane enorme. Kiev ha allentato l'embargo sulle esportazioni di armi, consentendo il trasferimento di tecnologia ai paesi alleati, che possono quindi ospitare linee di assemblaggio e i prodotti finiti vengono reimportati in Ucraina. Mai come oggi la domanda di droni da combattimento è in vertiginoso aumento.

Abbiamo addestrato la nostra IA su ciò che abbiamo visto negli ultimi quattro anni" aggiunge Chamberlain che afferma che la sua azienda è leader mondiale nel settore.

Milan, March 12 (askanews) - Increasing drone production capacity by opening factories abroad. For several weeks, some Ukrainian arms companies seeking to protect supply chains from Russian attacks have been building factories outside the country.
In a nondescript building near the British Mildenhall airbase, drone manufacturer Ukrspecsystems is preparing to open a new production line that, within a few weeks, will be able to produce up to 200 surveillance (ISR) drones per month, and up to 1,000 in the long term.
“It’s a bold and courageous step we’ve taken outside of Ukraine,” says Rory Chamberlain, director of Ukrspecsystems UK. “Our plan is to protect the supply chain, and this is the best place to do it, and then deliver the products from here.”
Although Ukraine has increased drone production after the Russian invasion of 2022 – with over four million units produced in 2025 – demand remains enormous. Kyiv has eased export restrictions on arms, allowing the transfer of technology to allied countries, which can then host assembly lines and the finished products are reimported into Ukraine. More than ever today, demand for combat drones is soaring.
“Regarding the AI we’ve introduced on the platform, it has the ability to lighten the operator’s workload, it’s Shark who does all the hard work. Once launched, it will find the targets and bring them to your attention. And then you can decide what to do with them. We have trained our AI on what we have seen in the last four years,” adds Chamberlain, who states that his company is a world leader in the sector.
