Our workshop "Cross-government policy modelling of long-term health and wellbeing impacts" brought 5 #microsimulation teams together with policy makers, public sector and other researchers.

High point this week was the Advisory Board Meeting for our "Long-Term Modelling Tools for Adolescent Mental Health and Wellbeing Research" project:

Meeting colleagues who generously spend "brain time" with you is just fantastic 🙇

Also, first paper coming out any day. In the paper we describe the general modelling approach and methods underpinning LifeSim Childhood with an illustration of how to use the model

Really happy to be in York once again for the annual in-person meeting of our grant to develop a better approach to long-term modelling of intervention effects on adolescent mental health and wellbeing:

“An old question, but an updated approach! We use #microsimulation to examine how #education, union events, and physiology interact to produce (part of) the #fertility gap in a recent birth cohort of Dutch women.” https://www.demographic-research.org/articles/volume/52/24/

Bonne utilisation 😉 2/2

Microsimulation Model Identifies 4-Year Window for Pancreatic Cancer Screening
It takes an average of 4 years for a pancreatic lesion to progress from high-grade dysplasia (HGD) to cancer, suggesting a window of opportunity for screening, based on a microsimulation model.
Screening should instead focus on identifying high-grade dysplastic lesions, they suggested.

4-Year Window for Pancreatic Cancer Screening

"Unfortunately, the poor results of pancreatic cancer screening do not align with this assumption, leaving unanswered whether this large window of opportunity truly exists."

It was nice to be back and to discuss #Microsimulation, cohort data, #MentalHealth outcomes, and to meet the collaborators in person!

Now going back North and looking forward to the coastal views.
