Would anyone know how to install Android apps in a way that they can't detect that it's an ungoogled smartphone?
Specifically, I am using LineageOS with microg, and installing apps from AuroraStore. It works in most of the cases, but some particular apps complain about a lack of security features and refuse to run.
«Neues reCAPTCHA erschwert Google-freie Android-Nutzung:
#google #android #recaptcha #googleplay #smartphone #verifikation #degoogle #ki #aibots #kibot #vertrauensbruch #itsec #itsicherheit #LineageOS #microG
Stats turn out better each time I upgrade my phone: Installed 50 apps through F-Droid, and 22 apps through Aurora this time. Almost 75 percent of my apps is now open source.
It's sad though that only two apps on my phone support UnifiedPush at this stage: Fedilab and Element X. But everything appears to run fine now using MicroG. The only app that has been given me difficulties is N26, which refuses to pair (probably due to MicroG).
I've just published the first v1.0.0 release candidate for Passchain (formerly HW Fido2 Provider)!
This is a big step from something that kind of work enough to be able to use security keys without the Play Services [1][2] to a more stable app.
Among other things, it benefit from the recent improvement made for the feature on microG (it uses its lib): for example we now have cross-device login => you can theoretically login on your TV with your Yubikey now 😃
[1] or microG
[2] there are now other apps like Authnkey that allow it. They didn't exist when I started Passchain, the Play Service was the only way to use them on Android
#passchain #hwFido2Provider #passkey #fido2 #yubikey #android #microg
