A #EU trilogue, when #EUparliament, #EUcouncil and #EUcommission haggle about legislation, yesterday agreed on a new package addressing #MethaneLeakage from fossil gas infrastructure.

I assume, market principles with mandatory self-reporting won't do the trick. Same old same old.
But it prompted me to plot a methane measuring station in Heidelberg city together with °C at its closest meteorological station to see whether I can tease out cold winter months in the methane growth rate.
Wasn't difficult. It's obvious how in cold winter months, methane growth rate grows – compared to its y-o-y monthly predecessor.
I don't think Heidelberg city has lotsa cows or lotsa bogs ^^so it'll be leakage from home heating with fossil gas, the major way of heating in Germany.
