We enter the final week of #meteorological #winter with #cool #temperatures and #breezy #winds.
At least there is some #sunshine at times to make up for the late February chill.

Gee, I wonder if Stupid Hitler will take the #USA out of the World #Meteorological Organization. He's so brilliant, all we need is for him to brandish a Sharpie pen to forecast #weather over the continental US.

The Trump administration will withdraw from dozens of international organizations, including the U.N.’s population agency and the U.N. treaty that establishes international climate negotiations. It marks the U.S. further retreating from global cooperation. President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order withdrawing the United States from 66 organizations, agencies and commissions following his instruction for his administration to review participation in and funding for all international organizations, including those affiliated with the United Nations. Many of the targets are U.N.-related agencies, commissions and advisory panels that focus on climate, labor and other issues that this administration has categorized as catering to diversity and “woke” initiatives.

Happy #Monday afternoon from the #Northland!
Welcome to the start of #December and #meteorological #winter, and it definitely feels like the new #season with below average #temperatures.
At least we are getting some peeks of #sunshine out there, but not much.
NORTHLAND FORECAST FOR DECEMBER 1, 2025:
The start of #meteorological #winter and #December will be a #cold one for the #Northland.
Any #snow #showers will end Sunday night with lows in the single digits, but feeling like it’s below zero.
Monday will see a mix of #sunshine and #clouds as a light #breeze forms from the southwest. That won’t help #temperatures as highs stay in the teens.

Happy #Sunday afternoon from the #Northland!
The last day of #meteorological #fall is definitely feeling more like #winter.
Some periodic light #snow #showers will pass through, but the #cold #temperatures are settling in.
The authors couple calculations of historical heatwave intensity at present and future global temperatures with exposure–response functions to quantify mortality from extreme heat events in Europe. They project tens of thousands of excess deaths, with limited attenuation from existing adaptations.

These results are based on historically observed #meteorological patterns combined with plausible twenty-first-century #global #temperature #anomalies, making them physically realistic storylines of high-magnitude heat events"
