🎁HBT Helmut Werner who turns 90 today. He studied chemistry at Univ. Jena and received his PhD in 1961 from TU Munich (TUM) where he worked with the Nobel Laureate E. O. Fischer. At Univ. Zurich his group succeeded in the synthesis of the first tripeldecker sandwich complex. At Univ. Wuerzburg his group championed a wide spectrum of #metalorganic and coordination chemistry. In his emeritus years he wrote several books including a highly acclaimed one on the history of inorganic chemistry.
