I see this a lot lately, in my personal feed, when I open Mastodon Cloud... Whether on mobile web or on desktop web...

And sometimes when I open Mastodon Social, too...

I'm kinda amazed that Mastodon Cloud still survives today.

After six years. After multiple ownership/management changes. After 'bloating-up' into a membership of more than 100,000 user accounts, continuing to be one of the top five most populated Fediverse server still in operation.

TO BE CLEAR: This is amazement, not disparagement.

How many Mastodon posts per day, or per hour, does Mastodon Cloud allow me nowadays..?

I'm *almost*, almost unsure about whether it is mastodon.cloud or mstdn.id that would last longer.

('Last longer' in the sense of surviving technological & financial challenges, not disappearing in the next three to five years, etc.)

...but if push comes to shove, at least for today right this very moment, I think I'm still betting on mastodon.cloud on this.

(And Masto Social ahead of both ofc.)

@nipitiri @diana @marko @henri Mulle iseenesest see 500 tuleb tihti ette, aga olen leplik ja mu mõttekäik on olnud midagi sellist, et nii jaksab ka keegi teine lugeda. Pakun, et 750 juures saaksin üsna lebolt hakkama.

Küll aga -- ja see on laiema Mastodoni küsimus -- see kuidas vestluste lõimestamine ei tööta ja ei tööta föderatiivselt on nadi. Ajalisse järjestusse sortimine oli Twitteris väga eeskujulikult lahendatud.

Ooh nice! Mastodon Cloud has upgraded to Mastodon software version 4.10. I can now edit toots here yay!

I only noticed today because tbh I've not been spending every single day browsing Mastodon. Last time I was here as I recall Masto Cloud was still on v3.6.something...
