I already use #Signal with several friends, but that's not going to work for other friends and administrative stuff like MFA codes. Any Android #MessagingApp recommends, friends?

These two projects adress very different kimds of chats. While I love DeltaChat
for 1:1 chats, or small groups, setting up a big group, where people may join, or leave at will, is a major PITA compared to Matrix.
Matrix replaces Slack, Telegram, or Teams. Delta replaces Whatsapp, or Signal. Different goals, different solutions, and different tradeoffs.
jfr_1980We need ONE major Europe-based messaging app that uses only a phone number as an ID. Privacy is less of a concern than security and sovereignty. We won’t be able to convince a large number of people to switch unless the transition is seamless.
Signal remains the best option for now, but surprisingly, people continue to stick with WhatsApp or Telegram.

G̸u̸a̸l̸t̸i̸e̸r̸o̸I hear a lot about Matrix being a truly decentralized protocol. But if you register with an instance and it goes down, all users under that instance go down with it. It happened a couple of months ago @ matrix.com and everybody knows it.
Differently, Delta Chat allows users to register same account on different relays so if the main goes down, users can just switch relay and keep chatting.
That makes Delta Chat one step ahead. Prove me wrong.
