So about last night… What a night, what an honor!!! To have my brothers of 30-plus years @[email protected] present me and @[email protected] come to support me in receiving the Lifesaver Award from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention @[email protected] despite both having to be up at 3 AM for their day jobs was incredible. That’s what brothers do for each other!!! The three of us have had the most amazing journey together, ride and die for sure and there for each other in our darkest times and a front row seat for all our wins.
And I cannot say enough about @[email protected] @[email protected] support. For yearsssss I hid my depression, anxiety, adhd and bipolar, for fear of people pulling away or shunning me. Not only did my work NOT shun me… THEY FLEW IN FOR ME!!!!
Listen, I’m not a doctor, therapist, teacher, clergy, I’m just a dude who’s F’ed up who’s learned to be proud of his F’ed-upness trying to give it words so you feel understood and you have the words to connect more on this.
I hid it for 50 years and that pain is so real… but once I kicked down my own walls of silence the help I’ve received and the bonds it’s brought me have changed my life. As a result, I’ve learned I’m worthy of love and thus stopped sabotaging every relationship which allowed my beautiful @rosie_glazer to come back into my life and share a forever bond now. It turns out with the help I received it’s never too late to find true love.
Thank you so the @[email protected], the stories I heard last night were so incredibly powerful and emotional. I promise to keep using my platform and voice to help show others they aren’t alone, we are all in this together which means you have more teammates than you know and how to lean into your teammates for support.
Thank you all for letting me lift you while you lift me. Let’s all keep walking this walk together.
