Wilhelm Putick, a Moravian karstologist and speleologist, is the main figure of the sisyphean efforts to turn Planina polje into an agricultural paradise.

He failed - one can't really fight karst and expect to win - but the beauty of the flooded karst plain would impress him for sure.

Heute durch die Pfalz gefahren. Alles furztrocken, Rasenflächen sind Stroh in Erde, auf allen Feldern Bewässerungsanlagen (allerdings nicht an).

Es ist erst Mitte Juni, aussehen tut es wie Ende August

Hat #Melioration Zukunft? Rohrsysteme sahen alle eher halbbatzig aus. Könnte man mit Rückgriff auf früheres Wissen Felder besser #bewässern? Muss #Landwirtschaft Pflanze umstellen — die Kartoffeln sahen alle nich so glücklich aus?

Oder ist das #Grundwasser sowieso schon zu weit zurückgegangen?
