Drinking Arlam Aguirre from Maker at the moment, and it has been a learning exercise.

I normally go with 30s extraction, 2:1 ratio, dosing at 18g. But this one I am much preferring drinking much shorter at 1:1. Found out by accident too, just so happened that the initial grinder settings resulted in a short shot, which I tried and liked, and dialling in coarser for the longer ratio just wasn't as tasty.

Recommended.

Arlam Aguirre - Washed - Guatemala (Espresso Roast)

I'm enjoying the Market Lane Seasonal Blends at the moment. The last one was an 80:20 Brazil natural:Rwandan washed and this current one is also 80:20 with a Brazil natural (different grower) and Bolivian washed.

Takes a much coarser grind setting than I'm accustomed to to get my usual 2:1 30 second shot (18g dose, 36g out). Tasting notes are dark chocolate, strawberry, and almond. 100% on the dark chocolate and almond but not picking up the fruit notes that I'd normally expect from the natural process component. Will try as a long black and see if the dilution pulls those flavours out. Good stuff overall though.

The Seasonal Blend from Market Lane is really tasty. Says it's 80:20 Brazil:Rwanda and dialled in (slightly coarser espresso grind to get a 30 second shot vs where I usually am, 94C temp) this is very nice. The past Market Lane coffees I've tried haven't really been my thing, but this one is enjoyable, might pick up another bag.

just trying the Costa Rica Las Lajas from Jasper Coffee and this one isn't doing it for me, sadly. Normally really enjoy the single origin specials from Jaspers but not this one. Process says Yellow Honey and on the extractions I've made it presents as big time pungent funk compost flavours. Not for me.

Over the last week or so have run through a bag of Caffeine Club and a bag of Blend 10, both from Jaspers Coffee. The Blend 10 made lovely espresso shots (94C, 18g dose, 2:1). Struggled a bit with the Caffeine Club, taking a little longer to dial in and I ended up dropping the extraction temperature to 90C and drinking the coffee as a long black in preference to a shot.

Just finished a bag of Alejandro Lainez. Origin: Guatemala. This was a washed coffee, roasted for espresso from Maker. Made amazing looking shots and had a nice balanced acidity to it. In the end I found it not hugely flavoursome so not what I'm looking for so not likely to join the rotation long term. Recommended though if you are looking for great crema plus a straight clean coffee flavour.
