Because if there is a need to improve, you're not already perfect and not being perfect means your ability in a system that values you based on ability devalues you.

Many people fear(usually without directly admitting it), that without ableism, we would lack an incentive to work on our capabilities.
But my impression is, that it just stunts peoples growth "beyond the average", "beyond the mediocre".

Ableism is an incentive, a pull towards mediocrity.

I support a two party system for the United States because allowing 170 million voters to pick more than two options is a race to #mediocrity. The best of the worst options can be consistently elected as we see playing out in UK or Italian politics.
I believe the best system forces people into a position and unfortunately, forces people not to vote. In a system of 170 million voters, the two party system produces diamonds or coal IMHO.
