Spring came to Borås, where I was for a textile history seminar at the Textile Museum and University, and also to Gothenburg. And I finished my new linen hose. #magnolia#handsewing#medievalclothing
I wasn't in bed until 2 am, and I had quite a lot of wine at the party yesterday, so I find it rather impressive that by 2.30 pm today I had made the beds, made a gluten free version of the 14th century recipe "Pies of Paris", loaded and started the dishwasher AND managed to get dressed in 12th century clothing.
Then I took the tram through town to my medieval group; Gotvik's christmas party. #12thcenturyfashion#14thcenturyfashion#16thcenturyfashion#tudordress#medievalclothing#sca
Saturday photos from the Medieval week.
My friend Sara rocking a Northern European peplos combo, the Polish band Daj Ognia playing at the market, me after a swim, wearing a supportive linen shift instead of modern underwear, the Northern side of the city wall. And the sea. A path under the trees outside the wall, and me in my magnificent reed hat and a jug of beer. #medeltidsveckan#medievaltown#medievaldress#medievalclothing
When you buy new red medieval shoes, your white linen hose will turn pink
This is after washing, so now I am adding bleach salt (perborate) to the mix. #medievalclothing#laundry#linen
I spent the weekend at Ekenäs Castle at the annual ’Riddarspel’.
Here I’m sewing a Greenland Cap for my partner, and he got to wear it the same day already (photo 2). Ekenäs was his first medieval event ever, and he did great! He mostly spent his time in the kitchen - a place he feels very at home in.
