Bring The A Game

I’m quite busy with work atm but from mid-April I’ll be looking again in journalism, media, PR if anything comes up. Please let me know if you see anything or are needing help with anything. Recent and current clients include:

Working on the recent launch of #data by international #civilsociety group #CIVICUS on #democracy around the world, ahead of Biden’s second #DemocracySummit , starting tomorrow. The new data reveals that a large number of the 120 invited countries do not uphold democratic values. Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Launch of global assessment on the state of protest rights. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.

[Live Interpretation: English; French; Spanish; Russian] From Iran to Italy, people have taken to the streets in protest. A new global data report by the CIVICUS Monitor looks at a range of this year’s prominent protest movements and documents the most prevalent restrictions to freedom of peaceful assembly. Over the past 12 months, the CIVICUS Monitor has tracked protests in over 130 countries. Some of the most common restrictions include the detention of protesters, the use of excessive force and extrajudicial killings. The purpose of this event is to unpack the report’s global findings, while also taking a closer look at specific regions and countries that have seen the most repressive responses to protests. Panelists include: • Lysa John, Secretary-General, CIVICUS • Julieta Zurbrigg, Civic Space Researcher, CIVICUS Monitor • Ruki Fernando, Activist, Centre for Society and Religion (CSR), Sri Lanka • Denis Shedov, Lawyer & analyst at OVD-Info, Russia • Aida Saadat, Program Manager, FEMENA Iran
