The remains of the Hamilton Fountain on Maxwell Park on the Southside of Glasgow. Built as a memorial to John Hamilton, this fountain was built in 1907. It was one of a number of ornamental carrara-ware fountains created by Doulton and Co for Glasgow Parks. Like the others, this one fell into disrepair and was demolished in 1989, and not only the lower basin remains in place.

Whitehall on Springkell Avenue beside Maxwell Park on the Southside of Glasgow. Designed by Robert Duncan in a Classical style, this villa was constructed in the 1890s. I love the little round dormer window which looks like a ship's porthole. This similarity may well be intentional as its first owner was William Gray of the shipowner and chandlers MacBeth and Gray.
