Throughout the upcoming months, we'll be stopping in cities across Europe, taking over venues, recordstores and radios with concerts, DJ sets, talks, exhibitions…

Vu aux #transmusicales signé chez @bongojoe, lead singer (Donald “Donny” Madjid) issu du #MauskovicDanceBand. Très axé sur la library italienne, le post funk cool jazz. Tout est bon.

Mauskovic Dance Band | the PROPAGANDA site

Mauskovic Dance Band (had a "the" early on) is an Amsterdam based group whose music embraces a range of traditional dance-oriented styles including dub, cumbia, afrobeat, and disco, which they play with strong jamming vibes and more or less an indie feel between the lines. Their sound is defined by their strong grooves, central to everything they do, and bolstered by the pairing of outstanding bass lines and a combo of drums and percussion that lays the groundwork. Vocals are pretty secondary in their music, if that. Their earlier releases explored afrobeat and cumbia though their focus shifted to dub quite a bit on their 2022 album Buckaroo Bank, particularly, the version of it that was popularized in the post-punk era. The members of the band all adopt Mauskovic as their moniker (not unlike The Ramones and Ween).
