I had meant to decorate some of the glut of brown paper bags as wrapping paper last Christmas. It was a wonderful 45 minutes of peace. Then life had other ideas. So here I am, pulling out the materials I set aside last year, admiring this quick sketch as my leaping-off point.

Here's to more experimentation, this year and in the year ahead.
