Why do reviewers ask I interview people as 'proof'?

I'm glad I left the site 'formerly known as' a while back now and that the jury's still out on the best academic social media platforms. For now, I'm sticking with #MastodonAcademic, although I know many who are on other platforms. Personally, I can't keep up, and wonder if building fewer but stronger and perhaps more diverse or like-minded synergies is a way to counter information and mental overload. On verra.
