Today I have no news link to share. Just some commentary...
This is an illegal war. I need not remind fellow students of history that other "Irans" have been pulled off before, such as what Tricky Dick did beginning March 18, 1969 with the secret bombings of #Cambodia to root out Communists. The main difference with Iran now is that Trump's military made him tell the public, beforehand. Richard Nixon prevailed over a country that did not have the Internet, no cell phones, nor did Cambodian civilians have any means to get the word out about the US's acts of aggression while at remote locations until the world scene discovered what was taking place later in 1969.
In the medium-term I'm making a soft prediction that all the d*ckheads running big business such as Elon Musk (Tesla) and BlackRock Inc, an entity that owns significant shares of Honda — as well as the gas companies/fuel refineries like Chevron and all the rest of them will use their influence in the US media through publications such as The Washington Post to tell us in so many ways that this is a beneficial war for the American public.
Bari Weiss's The Free Press (the turncoat editor who used to run Common Dreams before becoming the new person in charge at CBS) is already going there with this droll message.
No! No to war. Most of us who care are able to see right past this really stupid moment being created in US history by really awful leaders...
It's one future which truly has the potential to be more competitive and more humanly creative by using much less fossil fuels. Our posterity's future may be secure without the presence of monopolies and crazy people in charge of politics and the largest military in the world. It could get a whole lot better, believe me. Don't let them try to fool you. I won't listen to these media shills try to school the public. They've been hood-winked by both the short-term and medium-term prognostications of what some conscious folks call the silver tongue show. The "show" I'm referring to is important people in our institutions defending the indefensible. These shills who "work for numbers" are paying lip service to no good thing and no bad thing: the ballad of war. Several important institutions basically have a "fog of war" going on right now, today, over their interpretations of what is real with the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
As a nation of shared ideals — we want a lot more than four warring countries cancelling each other out over prolonged conflict for what are essentially bullshit reasons. That is: the US, Israel, Iran, and Lebanon. And a few of the conservatives who may have just seen the light such as Rep. Thomas #Massie are absolutely right: our taxed dollars from incomes earned are paying for this mostly illegitimate conflict happening on the world scene. The surveilling of Iran by America's central intelligence agents and softwares beforehand, the global intercepts, the generals sitting on their hands and at the same time probably lying to the executive branch about the real mission so that they can prolong this war and the lifeblood of the military-industrial complex, the incompetence of the #officers on the battlefield, and the #enlisted service ranks being slaughtered by both the enemy and friendly fire. Just recently, there were friendly fire incidents directed against US military personnel over by a base in #Kuwait; fortunately all of the American pilots ejected from their fighter jet cockpits just in time. Wow, now what the fuck? Hey, Trump: you already are losing this war. You've already cost half your base's hold on the US Congress the midterms. The liberals will certainly win back the US House, now, come this November.
