#MasonBees very thorough.
OK, I'm off to the garage to make Houdini fly traps. Learned via reddit that Nicole Kenney of Portland, Oregon, has been busy testing attractants for several years and THE WINNER IS MALBEC. Brilliant. #MasonBees #BeeHotel #InsectHotel #HoudiniFly #cacoxenus #science #diptera #wine #malbec #drosophilidae #flies #portland

For #EarthDay, I am happy to report the return of this red-rumped #Bumblebee beauty, #BombusMelanopygus. I have only seen this type in our garden on two other occasions, and never so early in the spring. Our #MasonBees, #BlueOrchardBees, or #BOBS have filled all the houses we put up, and they have taken over the stack of air drying Port Orford Cedar.

#Bees

Male Georgia mason bee (Osmia georgica) backed into a nesting tunnel in the observation wing of my backyard insect hotel. For some reason the males love these tunnels but the females, who do all the nest provisioning, never move in. He's just loitering, waiting for the temperature to warm up and for the females to arrive in the area. #InsectHotel #BeeHotel #MasonBees #bees #insects #nature

My #MasonBees are already hatching! I didn't expect them to come out so fast. Fortunately there are already a lot of flowers already sprinkled around the area.

There's tons of mason bees swarming the bee hotel these days. Decided to quickly add new "rooms" as last years were either used or too big to their liking I guess.
The new rooms appear to take a little getting used to. The mud / clay needs to dry first probably...

I've wanted to support the local pollinators for awhile, so this year I'm finally doing it. Today I got to put out my spring Mason Bees! I imagine I'll be out checking on them numerous times a day until they hatch.

#MasonBees Greetings! New here. Anyone getting supplies ready yet for their #MasonBees? Here in the #PNW it has been warmer and I have had 3 hatch already.
