I've been an admirer of everybody else's wearable #MaskArt (most of all the great @Nickelpin, but many others too), but sadly, I have no design talent. But when @Pentapod suggested using the sort of stretchy trim that's available at fabric stores, well, honestly all that takes is buying a strip of the stuff and some strong stitches to make sure it doesn't pop open. Good news: the supplies we need to decorate elastomeric respirators are coming together! We'll start with a throwaway or two, create a Mastodon account, and set up an Etsy shop to avoid copyright issues.

Fellow people trying not to get COVID (for the first time, second, or a subsequent time): if someone you live with became infected, which mask would you choose to wear in your home for the duration? Or those of you who have already done this: what did you choose? (No, this is NOT our current situation. Just spitballing.)

It would have to be something protective enough, though also comfortable enough that you don’t want to claw your face off after 10 days. 🤔
