A Phoenix rising from the flames on the side of Maryhill Community Central Hall in Glasgow. This mural commemorates the Phoenix Ironworks, which was established at 52 Queen Street by Thomas Edington in 1797. It later moved to Garscube Road near the Central Hall, where they specialised in making ornamental ironwork.

Love the curved facade on this 1860s Classical style townhouse on Wilton Street in the northwest of Glasgow. The arched windows on the ground floor are also rather impressive. However, I wonder if that curve makes it quite difficult to find furniture to fit against the walls of the front rooms.

Love this rather unusual gushet tenement on the corner of Panmure Street and Firhill Road in the north of Glasgow. The octagonal column of corner oriel windows is particularly eye-catching.

An insert on the top of the Maryhill Trig Point in Glasgow inspired by the plaques NASA attached to their Pioneer 10 and 11 spacecraft launched in 1972 and 1973 respectively. They were the first human-made spacecraft to reach a fast enough speed to escape from the gravitational grip of the Sun, and so venture into interstellar space. The plaques were designed to help any intelligent life forms who found them identify where in the galaxy they originated.
