When times are tough, there remains a need to return inwards. This retreat is not as easy as it seems, especially not in the modern world we currently occupy. Even so, you must carve out the time and space to listen closely to your inner guide. You must remember that the knowledge you so often seek cannot be found in books, but it can be found from within.

Deep listening facilitates the rise of our strength and our power. We are more than our work. We are more than what we produce. We are sacred beings that must learn to flow with the tides, with the push to be external and the pull to be internal. Just like the moon waxes and wanes, we too will have moments where the call to remain hidden supersedes the need to be seen.

Allow yourself the privilege of going deeper. Know that your pain is as sacred of a companion as your light.

Balancing work and pleasure. Restoring deep self nurturance.

Usually such an alignment between the Sun and Mars would ignite a spark of energy. And while that is certainly still present, there remains a deep sense of connection to the feeling realm. There is much ease, yet a tension still emerges. It’s like sitting on top of an icy lake. Above the water line there is tranquil stillness. Below the frozen surface the water continues to churn.

The churning of the water feels much akin to an incompatible flow of energies. We’ve been prioritizing ourselves more and more as of late. We’re discovering who we want to become. However, we must acknowledge that the force of becoming is no greater that the force of past being. From my perspective, it may be that case that these two forces are not so different. Are we growing more into ourselves or are we just realizing who we’ve been all along? Will we acknowledge this reality or will we continue with the facade of becoming?

You are who you are. You have always been who you are. Who you are has always been perfect. There is no becoming. There is simply a further unraveling of what is already present.

The urge to reset. Calming the mind.

The midst of Pisces season calls for deep rest and relaxation. This can be difficult to accomplish when dreams are lucid and nights are restless. In these moments, we must remember that rest is more than just the time we spend in bed. Rest also resides in the waking, in the periods where we remain stagnant or let the mind wander. It’s our desire to lay down on the couch swaddled in a blanket like a peaceful babe. It’s our ability to honour when we are called inwards and to act on it. Rest happens when we listen to our favourite song, re-watch our comfort show for the 100th time, chow down on something heavy and delicious, or simply spend a moment lying on our backs looking up at the sky. It’s these simple moments of indulgence that not only allow our body to recharge, but our soul as well.

Remember that you can only work as hard as you rest. The two go hand in hand.

Thoughts of healing. The informed self. The urge understand the structure of the liminal.

Mercury forms a sextile to Chiron before going on to form a conjunction with the Sun. Sun/Mercury conjunctions can prove to be both frustrating and illuminating. With the emphasis on Aquarius this time around, we’re being challenged to think more creatively, in ways we never even considered to be possible. We’re beginning to realize that sometimes the biggest obstacles can be solved with ease when we band together in community. There’s much to be done in the world. First we must come to terms with the gravity of the situation. Then we must have the courage to change, to emerge from the comfort of our warm cocoons. Metamorphosis is not an easy process, but it begins with rebellion and the embracing of the unconventional.

This breakthrough in consciousness will facilitate our connection to the divine, to that which can only be understood intuitively. In the spiritual community, there is a lot of ignorance when it comes to social and resistance causes. They’re seen as ‘low vibe’ or too depressing. However, the truth of the matter is that we cannot access the divine until we learn to have compassion for the suffering of others. Divinity starts with your fellow humans, not with a bypassed connection to something that facilitates your own individualized transcendence.

The yearning for more. Nurturing wounds of personal identity.

We are residing in a time when the fate of the world seems to be hanging in the balance. Uncertainty is the major pervasive influence within our current society. Instead of pretending like everything is all fine and dandy, it’s time to put our thinking caps on. How can we come up with innovative solutions to newfound problems? Where might thinking outside of the box get us? The first step towards restructuring the fabric of society requires that we step beyond the limitations of our own cognizance. Instead of generating ideas on our own, we can work together to optimize our collective creative potential. However, when we blend out mental faculties with those of others, we must be careful not to value conformity over unconventionality lest we arrive at dysfunctional outcomes. Allow differences to come alive. Lean into the disharmony, the rebelliousness. Grow a community that goes against the grain.

Remember that throughout this community-building process you will inevitably find yourself being challenged. Relating to others often reveals what we so meticulously seek to suppress within our own selves. In this way, the community and the self do not function as separate entities. They are interwoven and interconnected. The self feeds the collective and the collective seeks to understand the self. Acknowledge whatever wounds may emerge as you unravel from your cocoon. Care for yourself as you care for others. Remember that you cannot be fully present in community when your own soul is hurting.
