Started with some random mark making, and then a gnarly tree emerged. Charcoal and graphite on paper. #Drawing #MarkMaking #Sketch

The first image is a "resist sheet" (my own name, don't know if there's already a term of art for this) which i used for multiple pulls, and the final print on vellum that it created. To make the resist I used a Sakura mini paint stick for mark making on bond paper, and pulled multiple times adding more marks each time. Pulls made in black, gray, silver, and 4 green shades on the last pull. Gel medium was applied between resist pulls.

This one I started by making lines with a pen, then added pieces of marked tissue paper. I like building up layers and using some pieces upside down for fainter marks. #markmaking #dailysketchbook #collage #tissuepaper #abstractlandscape
