Honestly, things aren't running smoothly as expected earlier due to multiplication of tasks, there is also not enough money to integrate the horticulture and #MarketGardening systems we aimed at initially!

But we have hope because the cassava, coffee, bananas and the fruit trees planted are already growing!

Due to water scasity, we were not able to #plant veggies. But we shall plant them as soon as we fix the rain water harvesting problem

How can we give people more incentives to set up market gardens? Prices going up ought to do that in a competitive market, but thanks to the supermarket oligopoly and their gouging of both customers and suppliers, we don't really have one of those.

So what can we do, as the public, to help people who like growing fresh produce make a comfortable living doing it?

I'm finally in a headspace where I can start writing again, and need to do this years Transparent Production & Sustainability report for the farm(yes, we do TPS reports -- it's in the name after all).

I want to discuss is how we plan on improving sustainability from year to year. One of my biggest concerns regarding sustainability isn't in our production, it's in the packaging.
We sell lots of fresh herbs packaged in plastic bags. Those herbs are washed and put into the bags wet for refrigeration until sale.

I really can't find an alternative for single use plastics here, anyone got suggestions?

Paper won't hold the moisture, and/or goes manky in the fridge. Reusable plastic or glass containers are too expensive, and would come with their own problems of handling/sterilization as well as possible end-user contamination.
