Hooptober X: 30/32 - Decade: the 60's Jean Sorel kind of reminds me of George Lazenby. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is probably my favorite Bond film but Lazenby is the weakest actor in the role. I am not a fan of Jean Sorel but he is in some of my favorite gialli. He's not BAD (and it is hard to REALLY judge acting skills in these films with their quick productions and dubbed voices) but it all boils down to charisma. And Sorel's charisma is "I sort of look like Alain Delon, don't I?" just like Lazenby's was "I

This movie brings me so much joy. I love really everything about it. The camera work, the whole in-your-face pop art aesthetic of it, the brilliant Morricone score, the sheer ingenuity of the sets and staging, I could go on and on.
Lucio Fulci’s One on Top of the Other (AKA Perversion Story) is a 1969 psycho-sexual thriller that has some definite giallo stylistic touches. And it has no gore. It is however delightfully decadent and visually stylish. My favourite Fulci movie.
