The bees are finding a lot of yellow pollen today, no idea what is is, no bees in the trees here. Easily 90-100 bees per minute with pollen.

The first radish is up, it's a French breakfast heirloom. They were planted 13 days ago along with the sugar snap peas, arugula, spinach, beets, and other radish types.

There have been 58 (F) growing degree days based on a 43F base mean temp here this year, which is more of a fruit tree blossom thing at that base temp, but it's what I keep track of. Accumulated degrees above that daily mean temp base.

The Red Marconi and Jalapeno peppers, or chilies, are getting their first true leaves. The California Wonder 300 are all up 100% from last years bought seed, 100% dud on saved seeds. I'll have to make sure to grow one of them well into a non green color for seeds.

The local deer that's been around a year or two in the winter and spring. It acts different and is always ... by itself. 🤣 It loves the Euonymus bushes. I always thought the long tips just had some winter kill until I realized something was eating the leaves.

14 years since the #Syrian Revolution.

I walked through war, exile, and loss. I lost my home, my father, and my dreams but never my belief that freedom is worth everything.

Was it worth it? Yes. Because today, I breathe freedom. Today, I feel human.
