Wenn ich Fotos für #Mapillary erstelle, dann frage ich mich oft wo denn die Abdeckung noch nicht gut genug ist oder komplett fehlt.
Bisher habe ich das immer händisch rausgesucht und bin da vielleicht dann lang gegangen. Oder ich habe einfach alle Dashcam Videos vom Auto hochgeladen.

Jetzt habe ich ein Tool gefunden, das dir eine Route (Auto, Fahrrad) so berechnen kann, dass die Route dann an den Straßen entlang führt, welche eben keine oder wenig Mapillary Abdeckung haben.

Das ganze kann man sich granular einstellen, wie wenig Mapillary Abdeckung vorhanden sein soll, damit darüber dann die entsprechende Route führt.

Es wird übersichtlich angezeigt, wie viel länger die Route ist ist KM und Zeit. Außerdem wird angezeigt wieviel Strecke dabei ist, welche ohne Fotos ist.

Die Route kann man das als GPX herunterladen und z.B. mit OsmAnd öffnen um dann die Route entlang zu fahren.

Vārti, protams, ciet, to varēja saprast pēc tā, ka rinda ļaižu gāja uzreiz pagalmos, kur nu dubļos iebradātas pamatīgas takas. Pirms un pēc «uzlabošanas» satelītattēlos būs jāpaskatās.

Mapillary ist für Menschen, die nicht ausschließlich selbst ihre Daten vor Ort erheben schon eine wichtige Ressource.

Um so blöder, dass diese Bilder bei Meta liegen.

Ich weiß, dass ich diesem Bilderberg nicht zuarbeiten werde. Dafür gibt es Orte wie Panoramax.

I'm reaching the limits of what I can do by armchair mapping to add new streets and paths in #MadisonWI to #OpenStreetMap
We really need warmer weather so that I can go out by bike, survey, and record street level imagery for #Mapillary and #Panoramax
I also look forward to Dane County getting updated aerial imagery online -- they seem to do this in 2-year intervals and so 2026 in theory should be the year.

I've used GoPro Max 360 for some time now to collect open imagery, mostly uploading to Mapillary.
I've tried to keep all the collected imagery locally, in case a more open service appears. While there are various Panoramax instances, there are no global ones or any stable ones for this region (although @one did a great job setting up a test instance).

But I ran out of means to store all those images locally, have to delete them now.
