Installed temporary 25’ counterpoise onto the Comet AD-35M UHF to 3/8-24 adapter. Ground connection had a “special” super-short #8-32 screw and my ground wire had a 3/8 lug on it (requiring a few washers to restrain it properly), yielding a morning kludge. Will get a proper screw at next visit to HW store. This should be good enough to driveway test this setup in the near future. #HamRadio #Manpack
Quick simulation for the backpack antenna mounted vertical. Results for 20m, vertical 4.9m length, 5.7m counterpoise at 0.1 m above ground. As expected, the antenna is a-bit directional to where the counterpoise wire is pointing. Will be fun to try in the field once completed (and not raining here in EN52). #HamRadio #Manpack
