For those that have been following my #SBC shenanigans for awhile, here is the current status:
1) #Pine64 RockPi Pro is still running strong as a file server
2) Both #MangoPi (quad and pro) have been recycled
3) #RPi zero has been set up to be a CLI sandbox to play around with
4) #OrangePi Zero2w & #MilkV mars both have #Debian installed but are currently collecting dust. I need to find something to do with them.

Unless something really neat comes out WITH robust support, I think my little foray into SBC will come to end; or more likely be way more sporadic.

After dusting off the #sbc this weekend and tinkering with them, I have some sad news. Both of my #MangoPi (pro and quad) are being put out to the pasture. The MP pro (D1 Allwinner risc) wont post regardless the supported OS I put on it. The quad is no longer supported and I cannot find an image to flash on it; scubbing the internet has not been fortuitous.

As for the rest the jury is out. The #OrangePi Zero 2W and RV are working fine; they are just not exciting anymore.  The #MilkVMars seems too limited and lacks support from the maker but is up and running. The #RPi Z2W is chugging along just fine.

Unless I find something exciting and well supported, I think I’m kind of done with SBCs at this time.

Took all of 5 minutes to “clean up” my #SBC set-up. I have downsized the SBC that I currently use. Now I am down to the following:

1) @PINE64 Rockpro64 which is my mini #Debian file server (black box with stickers)

2) #MangoPi Pro a D1 #riscv sbc for tinkering (small black box)

3) #RPipico emulating a 128K Macintosh (grey box)

4) #OrangePiRV2 (clear box) an 8core K1 riscv sbc also for tinkering.

All my other sbc are collecting dust in a box until I find a use or they end up in the e-recycling bin.

Since I have had no luck with getting risc-y, I have dusted off the #MangoPi Quad to play with.

I have a #Debian sever iso installed and updated to #Trixie. #Xorg is installed and now I am compiling #CDE (Common Desktop Environment). Hopefully this turns out to be something fun.

Maybe I am just a glutton for punishment, but I dusted off the #MangoPi quad to learn a new(to me) DE.

To fill my tinkering needs, I am going to learn #JWM. I like the idea of a simple desktop/window manager; let’s see if I like it in practice.

Oh man! I should have jumped on the #POE bandwagon earlier.

This makes working with #SBC MUCH easier 🥳

Hi, everyone! I am trying to boot OpenBSD on MangoPi MQ-Pro. I has been able to create correct u-boot and flash it on SD-card and boot to u-boot. Then I connected USB stick to my board and successfully loaded installation process. I tried it two times:
First time I tried to keep old u-boot and boot from it. I installed it and has been greeted with falling into FEL mode, so boot section no more existing. I manually dd old u-boot again keeping newly created partitions of OpenBSD. After power on it loaded into u-boot and tried to boot to the OpenBSD, but failed with some error.
Second time I tried to give OpenBSD whole disk, so it created its own boot section. But got the same FEL mode. Boot of OpenBSD is not compatible with MangoPi.
So, I know someone succeeded with the task of running OpenBSD on MangoPi MQ-Pro, it even mentioned on this page: https://www.openbsd.org/riscv64.html What did I do wrong?
