Il Tempo: "La Champions League la voglio io". La carica di Gasperini

Sette partite per inseguire un obiettivo "difficile, ma fattibile". Gian Piero Gasperini crede ancora al traguardo Champions, nonostante la sua Roma abbia perso terreno dal quarto posto occupato dal Como, che ha un vantaggio di +4 sui giallorossi e di +1 sulla Juventus quinta. L'ambizione però resta la stessa. "Fuori da Roma nessuno ci accreditava come squadra in corsa. E la proprietà non mi ha detto di raggiungere quel traguardo, è una cosa che ho detto io", ha precisato il tecnico giallorosso in conferenza stampa alla vigilia del match contro il Pisa (venerdì alle 20:45) all'Olimpico. "Sfidiamo una squadra quasi retrocessa ma molto ostica", le parole di Gasp che, dopo la disfatta di Milano con l'Inter, vuole mettere pressione a Como e Juventus, distanziando almeno per una notte a +4 l'Atalanta, impegnata sabato sera contro i bianconeri. Non recuperano i quattro titolari ai box: "Penso che Mancini possa tornare la prossima settimana e con lui spero anche Kone e Wesley. Dybala va abbastanza bene, si allena e penso siano necessarie 1-2 settimane". Gli infortuni sono stati una costante nella stagione giallorossa: "Sono stati penalizzanti, soprattutto perché sono stati lunghissimi sin da subito. È stata un'annata difficile sotto questo aspetto".
Tra i giocatori spesso assenti per problemi fisici ci sono elementi in prestito (Ferguson, la cui stagione è finita) o in scadenza (Dybala). "Questa situazione non è una novità, non si è affrontata prima ed è rimasta tale e quale. Sono ragazzi seri. Penso a Pellegrini che dopo il 5-2 di Milano è andato a fare l'intervista, mettendoci la faccia. Il futuro dipende dalla loro volontà e da quella della società", ha tagliato corto l'allenatore che si è anche soffermato sul target dei calciatori da prendere in estate. "Negli ultimi 2 anni sono arrivati 30 giocatori, di questi 4-5 o meno stanno giocando attualmente. Forse c'è bisogno di target diversi. A Roma hanno visto giocatori importanti e riconoscono quelli forti...". Si possono prendere giocatori giovanissimi o con un ingaggio pesante. Per Gasperini la strada da seguire sta nel mezzo: "Il target ideale sono i giocatori come Malen e Wesley. Se ne trovi 10 sei bravo, se ne trovi 2 li aggiungi. Non è facile, ma è possibile".

Seven matches to chase a “difficult but achievable” objective. Gian Piero Gasperini still believes in a Champions League target, despite his Roma having lost ground from fourth place held by Como, which has a +4 lead over the giallorossi and +1 over Juventus in fifth place. However, the ambition remains the same. “Outside of Rome, no one was crediting us as a team in contention. And the ownership didn’t tell me to reach that target, it’s something I said myself,” clarified the giallorosso coach in a press conference ahead of the match against Pisa (Friday at 8:45 PM) at the Olimpico. “We’re challenging a team almost relegated but very difficult,” were the words of Gasp, who, after the defeat in Milan against Inter, wants to put pressure on Como and Juventus, distancing Atalanta by at least +4 for one night, engaged against the Bianconeri on Saturday evening. They don’t recover the four key players out injured: “I think Mancini could be back next week and with him I hope also Kone and Wesley. Dybala is doing quite well, he trains and I think it’s necessary 1-2 weeks.” Injuries have been a constant in the giallorossi season: “They have been penalizing, especially because they were very long from the beginning. It was a difficult year from this point of view.”

Among the players often absent due to physical problems there are players on loan (Ferguson, whose season is over) or expiring contracts (Dybala). “This situation is not new, it hasn’t been faced before and it remained the same. These are serious boys. I’m thinking about Pellegrini who after the 5-2 in Milan went to do the interview, putting his face on it. The future depends on their will and that of the company,” cut short the coach who also addressed the target of players to take in the summer. “In the last 2 years, 30 players have arrived, of these 4-5 or less are currently playing. Perhaps there is a need for different targets. In Rome they have seen important players and recognize the strong ones…”. Young players or those with heavy salaries can be taken. For Gasperini, the path to follow is in the middle: “The ideal target are players like Malen and Wesley. If you find 10 you are good, if you find 2 you add them. It’s not easy, but it’s possible.”

MILANO (ITALPRESS) – L'Inter rientra alla grande dalla sosta nazionali. I nerazzurri di Chivu rifilano un netto 5-2 alla Roma nel match valido per la 31esima giornata di Serie A. Partita messa subito in discesa dal gol dopo poco più di 60 secondi di Lautaro Martinez. Al momentaneo pareggio di Mancini (40′) risponde l'eurogol di Calhanoglu (47′). Nel secondo tempo gli ospiti si sciolgono e cadono sotto i colpi di Lautaro (52′), Thuram (55′) e Barella (63′). Rende meno amaro il ko la rete di Pellegrini al 70′. MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Inter returned to form spectacularly after the national break. The Nerazzurri thrashed Roma 5-2 in the 31st round of Serie A, a clear victory for Chivu’s team. The match was quickly made easy by Lautaro Martinez’s goal just over 60 seconds in. Mancini’s momentary equalizer (40′) was answered by Calhanoglu’s eurogoal (47′). In the second half, the visitors fell apart and succumbed to Lautaro’s (52′), Thuram’s (55′) and Barella’s (63′) strikes. The defeat was made less bitter by Pellegrini’s goal at the 70′. Agi: L'Inter travolge la Roma a San Siro 5-2, doppietta Lautaro

AGI - Show dell'Inter, a San Siro, e Roma travolta 5-2 in una serata in cui il dominio nerazzurro è stato abbastanza netto fin dai primi secondi. Padroni di casa in vantaggio già al primo minuto con Lautaro, rapido a sfruttare al meglio fuga e assist di Thuram.
La Roma si vede dopo venti minuti, con Rensch che però non riesce a sfruttare un servizio di Cristante. Al 24' i giallorossi sfiorano il pari con un colpo di testa di Malen, deviato in angolo da una parata straordinaria di Sommer. Subito dopo l'Inter torna a dominare ma, a sorpresa, arriva il pareggio di Mancini che di corsa colpisce di testa e deposita il pallone in fondo alla rete. Malen poi viene fermato da Akanji mentre in campo aperto puntava la porta di Sommer. All'ultimo secondo del primo tempo l'Inter torna in vantaggio con un eurogol di Calhanoglu.

Nella ripresa i nerazzurri sono tornati in campo più carico e il mezzo equilibrio visto nel primo tempo è scomparso. Inter ancora in gol con Lautaro (doppietta), al 55' con Thuram e al 63' con Barella.
Sussulto della Roma con Pellegrini, a chiudere una serata molto amara, con una sconfitta davvero cocente.

Roma saw action after twenty minutes, with Rensch who however couldn’t capitalize on a service from Cristante. At the 24’ the Giallorossi came close to tying the score with a header from Malen, deflected into the corner by an extraordinary save by Sommer. Immediately after, Inter returned to dominating but, surprisingly, Mancini scored the equalizer, running and heading the ball into the bottom of the net. Malen was then stopped by Akanji while in open play he aimed at Sommer’s goal. In the last second of the first half, Inter regained the lead with a Eurogol from Calhanoglu.

In the second half, the Nerazzurri returned to the field with more energy and the half-balance seen in the first time disappeared. Inter scored again with Lautaro (double), at 55’ with Thuram and at 63’ with Barella.
