During the last days I removed a lot of slugs (Arion spec.) from the vegetable garden. They come in a variety of colours: redish, brownish, yellowish, greyish, beigeish, verydarkish, …

After some days of observation I could swear there is a correlation between the colour of the background they are sticking to and the colour of the specimen. But if so, how?
