#Makgeolli batch 3 is partially bottled. Some went into a 1L bottle and when I went to taste it, it was HYPER carbonated. Lost about a third of it as it foamed over onto the counter. None of my other batches carbonated, even when I added a bit of ec-1118. I have no clue what is different about this batch. #home #fermenting

Well my first round of #makgeolli was such a success, I'm immediately starting a second batch. The first round had so many nice fruity notes, I decided to put peaches and raspberries in with the rice this time. We'll see how it goes!

I made #makgeolli for the first time ever this week, and *wow* I am blown away by how good it is, especially in light of how little overall effort it was to make. Fruity and light, just way better than it has any right to be.

I can't (and don't care to) drink much, so I tend to have a bit of sake or other wine when I do indulge. Nigori is one of my favorite types of sake, so discovering that I can make a cloudy rice wine at home with minimum effort is nice!

@enog I believe #Makgeolli is technically a #Beer, but in the same sense that sake is a beer. (Both are brewed.) It's much more sake-like than European beer-like. The han name is 濁酒.
