#makeShitMonday , #crochet edition, in which I am leveraging my balls...

I've made great progress on this shrug - one side is basically done, but I realized I can't really tell how long I want the sleeves from just one sleeve! Fortunately, I have multiple yarn balls to employ...

This pattern is worked outward on both sides from the center back, so I worked the first side to where I *think* is right, tied in a separate yarn ball, and am going to work the second side to match and pin it temporarily to see what I think. (It's cashmere yarn, so I don't intend to block it for size, just for symmetry.)

It's lovely, and an absolute joy to make, but a bit heavier than I anticipated. So I think I'm going to consider this a winter warmer - the color will be great at Christmas! - and make another in Malabrigo Silkpaca lace weight for three-season use... 😇

Experimenting with sourdough. This loaf is baked in a bread tin and used a combination of organic tipo 00 wheat flour and organic emmer flour.

#makeShitMonday, crochet edition, in which I have a socially acceptable fidget toy...

@mbroome and I are taking a weeklong vertical cave rescue class, and it has been a looooong time since I tried to cram this much information into my head this fast. Fortunately one of the course leaders is a teacher as her day job and understands ADHD, so she's totally okay with me crocheting my way through the classroom instruction.

We're three days in, and I've already finished the hat for my BIL and gotten a good start on the [crochet lace shrug](https://www.ilikecrochet.com/magazine/crochet-shawl-patterns/jade-vines-crochet-shrug/) I'm making with the nice cashmere yarn I got on super sale!

This shrug pattern is *perfect* for classroom #ADHD management - simple stitch, no finicky counting, just cluster into the chain-2 space over and over until I run out of yarn... 🥰 It's so much easier to concentrate on the lecture material when my hands are occupied! I even managed a halfway-decent Russian splice, from memory, when I ran into a break in the yarn.

For my second entry in #marchintosh is this #spicyPillow in a 2012 Mac Pro. IIRC I picked this up at #EFM #electronicsFleaMarket on the cheap, fully intended for a project but was packed up from the move. Unpacked the box this weekend, and noted the lid being pushed out – and upon opening noted the touchpad broken in half.

I opened it up & pulled out the spicy pillow, installing a spare battery I had on hand. Connected power, and it booted! The touchpad works, but to click/double click you have to push down to make the touchpad level while clicking/double clicking. Time to find a replacement touchpad, and when I do then also max out the RAM while installing an SSD.

#MakeShitMonday, #homecooking edition, in which we made fresh pasta for the first time in *ages*!

I made egg pasta with half semolina and half AP flour (because I'm too much of a coward to tackle 100% semolina pasta), both of which came from a wonderful local miller that vends at our farmers' market. It was literally the best homemade pasta ever to grace my kitchen - it came together perfectly in the Cuisinart, rolled out like a dream, cooked up beautifully,, and tasted amazing!!

My dad was first-generation-born-in-the-US Italian American, and he made fresh pasta all the time when we were kids. I don't make it often, because it seems like a lot of work, but this was so easy that I will definitely do it again soon...

(And then we used the noodles to make a torn lasagna with kale and kimchi from my new cookbook obsession, [Tenderheart](https://hettymckinnon.com/cookbook/tenderheart), which was deeply weird - especially since I grew up eating bog-standard Italian lasagna - and totally delicious! I do not think of kimchi, gochugaru, and cheddar as three flavors that go together... but they certainly worked in this.)
