A heads up for anyone coming to #MakerNight tonight (or the space tomorrow morning) - there was a problem with a software update to the lift so at the moment the only access to the space is via the stairs.

Sorry. The lift engineer is due at 8am tomorrow (having been on site today) so hopefully it'll be resolved quickly.

🚆 One of the regulars at @DoESLiverpool #MakerNight last night was cleaning up some model railway engines and had some track with him.

It was handy, because I'd been into my parents' loft to dig out my old Class 37 loco to give him (he's a huge Class 37 fan).

Here's a clip of it getting its first run in 30-odd years 😁

This would be a good quick starting project for #MakerNight or #MakerDay - we've got sewing machines, overlockers, and even a CNC embroidery machine.

Maker Night every Thursday 7pm - 9:30pm

Maker Day on the second Saturday of every month from 10am - 5pm.

Anne-Marie wearing some earrings I made last week while prototyping for potential @plastacs workshops.

They're laser cut from heat pressed waste PLA 3D printing filament, which allows a lot of detail.

We still have a couple of sheets of ready pressed PLA left if you're coming down to a #PlasticPlaygroup session or @DoESLiverpool #makernight and would like to try it out with your ideas ...

Trying out the #inkstitch #sashiko extension on Fred, the @DoESLiverpool embroidery machine at #makernight. I heat pressed salvaged blue bubble wrap and used baking parchment as a stabiliser (I'm hoping I'll be able to soak it off afterwards). It works better than I expected and I might look around for some more eco thread.
