This is exactly what's wrong with [at least] the United States right now. Every business wants to be focused on growth, not performing a service and #maintaining “a book of business”.
It’s like a multi-level marketing scheme. There’s only so much to insure, so much that people can invest. So many markets are, if not finite, then, frankly, dependent on population growth, no matter how shiny your product looks.
Rob Peter to pay Paul and eventually the only option left is to rob Paul.
Unless the way you change your business magically grows the pie, it’s a zero-sum game, and endless growth, by definition, is not sustainable, though the pursuit is too often destructive (like this one).
