Stop ai concerti per tutto il 2026 e bagagli pronti per il trasferimento in Spagna. Mahmood ha deciso di staccare la spina per un po’, ma prima ha affidato al magazine Butt alcune riflessioni sul successo, sull’amore il sesso. “Ho smesso di andare in tour e di pubblicare nuove canzoni perché ho davvero bisogno di tempo per trovare nuova ispirazione, una nuova visione che voglio condividere con le persone”, ha dichiarato.
“Mi trasferisco in Spagna. Ho bisogno di passare più tempo a camminare per strada, – ha continuato – a pensare ai miei drammi, senza essere perseguitato (…) Non mi piace quando la gente mi riprende mentre ballo. Magari sono ubriaco. Non voglio fare brutta figura davanti alla telecamera. Mi sento come una tigre bianca in uno zoo”.
Libero di testa così come nel nesso: “Non ho mai sentito il bisogno di nascondere la mia vita sessuale. Sono stato fortunato. Ho una mamma molto brava. La mia più grande fortuna nella vita è stata mia madre“. Poi un curioso aneddoto: “Una volta ho fatto sesso con questa persona, sesso fantastico bla bla bla. E dopo, mi ha detto: ‘I miei figli sono dei tuoi grandi fan’. E io ho pensato: ‘Cosaa …’. Non sapevo cosa stava succedendo, ma mi stavo divertendo”.

Mahmood qualche sassolino dalla scarpa se l’è tolta sul lavoro: “Mi hanno trattato come uno schifo. Volevano che pubblicassi una canzone terribile, super pop. E mi hanno detto che dovevo ascoltare quello che passavano alla radio. Nessuno credeva in ‘Soldi’. Dicevano ‘Carino. Strano’. Ma poi è diventata la canzone italiana più ascoltata in streaming di tutti i tempi”.

“I’m moving to Spain. I need to spend more time walking around the streets, – he continued – thinking about my dramas, without being pursued (…) I don’t like when people take pictures of me while I’m dancing. Maybe I’m drunk. I don’t want to look bad on camera. I feel like a white tiger in a zoo.”
Free-spirited as in the core: “I’ve never felt the need to hide my sex life. I’ve been lucky. I have a very good mother. My greatest fortune in life is my mother.” Then a curious anecdote: “Once I had sex with this person, fantastic sex bla bla bla. And after, he told me: ‘My children are your big fans.’ And I thought: ‘What…’. I didn’t know what was happening, but I was having fun.”

And they told me I had to listen to what was playing on the radio. No one believed in ‘Soldi’ (Money). They said ‘Cute. Strange.’ But then it became the most listened to Italian song of all time, streamed.”
